ConnectWise, a Tampa, Fla.-based IT management company, announced that it acquired SkyKick, a Seattle-based cloud automation and migration company. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

SkyKick targets IT service providers that help small and medium-sized businesses with their cloud infrastructure management, including migrating and managing files in the cloud.

SkyKick co-CEOs Todd Schwartz and Evan Richman, former Microsoft employees, launched SkyKick 12 years ago. The company raised $130 million in 2021. It has offices in Seattle, Amsterdam, and Sydney.

SkyKick laid off 140 employees earlier this year, according to the Washington state Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) system.

SkyKick currently employs 142 people and all will join ConnectWise, according to a ConnectWise spokesperson.

We reached out to Schwartz and Richman for additional context on the deal and we’ll update if we hear back.

ConnectWise, founded in 1982, competes with N-able, NinjaOne, and other IT management providers. The company also announced Tuesday that it plans to acquire Axcient, a data protection and disaster recovery company.
