Tech Moves: TiE Seattle names leader; ex-Flexport president joins General Catalyst in new role Taylor Soper

— Prashant Mishra, a longtime Seattle-area tech leader and founder of Click2Cloud, was named president of TiE Seattle.

Mishra founded Click2Cloud in 2014. The company, headquartered in India with offices across the globe, sells various cloud-related products. Mishra previously worked for Microsoft, Wells Fargo, and Persistent Systems in leadership roles.

“His dedication to fostering local entrepreneurship, advancing healthcare and agriculture, and creating opportunities through various programs truly embodies the spirit of entrepreneurship,” TiE Seattle wrote on LinkedIn.

A branch of global nonprofit The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), TiE Seattle was founded in 2000 as a network with roots in the South Asian community to support and promote entrepreneurship in the larger Seattle startup ecosystem. Mishra joined the TiE Seattle board last year.

Mishra replaces Kishor Panpaliya, an exec at RapidSOS who served as president of TiE Seattle since last year.

— Teresa Carlson, former president of Splunk and Flexport, joined venture capital firm General Catalyst in a full-time role. Carlson also was a vice president at Microsoft and Amazon Web Services, and sits on the board of Commure and Seattle-based startup Karat. She’ll help San Francisco-based General Catalyst accelerate an effort around collaborating with governments.

— Evelyn Prime-MacAdam was named senior vice president of digital products for Hillsboro, Ore.-based First Tech Credit Union. Prime-MacAdam most recently was a vice president at USAA, and also held exec roles at Insureon, eHealth, and Yahoo.

— Douglas Gourlay is the new CEO of Seattle-based data storage company Qumulo. Gourlay worked at Cisco for a decade and later joined networking giant Arista Networks, where he was most recently a vice president and general manager. He replaces longtime leader Bill Richter, who is retiring after an 8-year stint as Qumulo’s CEO. Read more.

Dave O’Hara, a longtime leader at Microsoft, joined the board of Rohirrim, a Reston, Va.-based RFP software company. O’Hara spent more than 23 years at Microsoft, most recently as commercial chief financial officer.

Travis Pearl, former vice president of demand generation at Uptime Institute, joined IDC as vice president of enterprise technologies. Pearl previously founded MeritShare and SiteScore.
